Write a Novel: Scene by Scene – tips for aspiring writers by Jay Darby, author of BIG WHITE LIES #1

G’day folks,

I’ve received quite a few emails/messages from fellow writers regarding the processes I followed in writing my crime fiction novel, BIG WHITE LIES.

Rather than reply to each request individually, I’ve decided to share the entire process here on the website, using examples from the best-selling thriller, BIG WHITE LIES. The first part should be live within the next week. Keep a look out for it by following this blog, or better still, use the ‘Contact Jay Darby’ page to share your email address and join my mailing list.

In the meantime, have a think about the story you want to write, and how you want to write it. Will your novel evolve around characters, or around the story/plot you have in your head? These are important questions to ask yourself before you start writing, and I’ll be asking you the same when I next post in the blog series Write a Novel: Scene by Scene.

Cheers – Jay
